You cant go to Melbourne and not go a Rooftop bar in the summer. For beautiful 360 degree views of the city nothing beats the Rooftop bar above Cookie on Swanston street. Its also home to the rooftop cinema over the summer period. Apart from the 5000 steps to the top, It's perfect!
There are a tonne of quirky bars around Melbourne too, as well as the Rooftop there's Blue Train cafe along Southbank and new to my favourites list Ponyfish Island. My only tip for any visitors is to recommend a few key bars and if you've got time, do 'plan to get lost' and see how gems you stumble upon.
Wander through Centre place for busy quaint cafes and trendy boutique stores, to photogenic Graffiti stained Hosier Lane.
